Raw cylinder - elm 1
The raw wood used for my “cylinders” is chosen for its character, texture, and suitability to showcase the contrast between the relatively smooth cut edges and the “live” or raw edges/faces that remain. In the “raw cylinder” category, the cylinders remain in their unfinished form, and, while the form will remain relatively stable, can continue to evolve over a long period of time. Those with bark remaining can lose some, or all of their bark. Those with cracking may continue to develop those cracks. These changes can, and will, take place over years, and I see it as an integral part of the form of these “minimal” sculptures. This cylinder is 9 1/2” tall at its highest point, and 7” in diameter.
These are expensive and relatively difficult to ship, so if you are not local and able to do a pick-up, please contact me via my contact page and I can get you more info. Thanks.
